All things are connected....Man did not weave the web of life. He is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself. —Attributed to Chief Seattle, 1784–1866
THE RAINBOW BRIDGE POEM
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

The Schubert Family - In memory of Casey, their beloved 6 year old Chocolate Labrador who passed away suddenly on Christmas Day, 2009. We miss you girl!
MAC, resting in peace after an intense 11th Birthday. Mac has since retired in his permanent home in heaven and is watching from up above. His humor, graciousness, and compassion have humorously blessed his family with two rescued chocolate labradors who are full of spunk and on their way to learning how to enjoy and be thankful to all who save our society and it's creatures.
Our favorite ray of sunshine passed on February 9th, 2009. Copper was an amazing animal, not just a dog. He never found his forever home here on earth, but he was sooo loved while in the process. Now he is in his forever home in Heaven. All of our hearts will have a permanant imprint of Copper on it. We miss you sweetie!
Dogs live in the moment. They don't worry about what happened yesterday, what you're wearing or what's going to happen in twenty minutes from now. It is all about the here and NOW.... We can all learn to appreciate the beauty in that.

2004 – The day we met and you melted our hearts. You worked your web of
wonderful love and entertained us with your mischief. Your
personality, and caring ways have made an indelible mark on our hearts forever.
So social with people as well as dogs, you never barked unless it was the
8:15 am squirrel in the backyard. In January
of 2010 we would sadly be introduced to words like malignant cells and Canine Histiocytosis.
We had great canine doctors, but after a short lived hopefulness with an experimental drug - Histio came back stronger. February 4th
2010 It was so hard to say goodbye to a wonderful pal who made our day
everyday. You will be missed so dearly. We know how blessed we are to
have had if only a short time with you. So sorry we
couldn't win the battle this time, but as we have said... the fight will go on
in your honor.
Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue is dedicated to the memory of George Pullos, who loved life and nature and valued the existence of all beings. Too often the value of nonhuman life is measured against human constructs of time, space, and convenience. Thousands of dogs are killed every day for lack of space and time. But when an innocent life is carelessly extinguished, all life is diminished. Those who choose to kill rather than preserve life are actually killing themselves, bit by bit, day by day, as their own spirits wither and die.
The following special persons and pets have touched the lives of our friends. Donations to support the life-affirming work of Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue have been given in their memory and honor :
In loving memory
Kelsy O'Malley - A black lab who passed away on 1/27/08
The Barnett Family - In memory of Sandy, their beloved white German Shepard who passed away suddenly.
Carol Keeney - In memory of her black lab, Jack.
John and Catherine Benson - In memory of Oliver Doerner, their beloved cousin, an avid animal lover. Nancy Hahn - In loving memory of her mother, LaVerne Hahn, and also her special black Labrador Retriever, Cedric.
Nancy Hahn and her family - In memory of Holly, the 14-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever owned by Don and Dawn Hahn. We miss you Holly!
The Best Family - In memory of Toby, a black Labrador Retriever.
