The Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International are holding a special fundraiser for Spay Day 2010. They have organized a photo voting contest. Prizes will be awarded two ways: The number of votes a photo receives, and a panel of judges' decision on the best entry in this campaign. Donations in this fundraiser will support our spay/neuter campaign. Each $1 donated adds another vote to that photo. All of your donation goes directly to spaying and neutering pets.

The Alo Oscar campaign in Romania now has a van equipped with cages to transport up to 60 dogs and puppies per month to Germany for adoption! The Oscar campaign (project of Romania Animal Rescue Foundation in Bucharest) has also found a place for special needs animals. 17 will be going for adoption to special needs homes this month.
The Humane Society's Spay Day event will be in Craiova, Romania this year! Dr. Aurelian and his team are putting the final program together for this event that will occur on February 24 (and longer if possible) with the goal of spaying/neutering 100 dogs and puppies.
The Glina shelter is covered with snow; so much snow that the animals are not reachable! Alo Oscar volunteers are going to the Glina shelter Wednesday to shovel out the areas so the dogs can eat. A number of dogs have already died at the Glina shelter as a result of the snow and lack of food. We would like to raise funds to get food to the Glina dogs (600 dogs) right away. Livia Brenner of RARF and the Oscar campaign will be going to pet food manufacturers to work a discount for dog food, but at this time we have NO FUNDS for dog food for Glina dogs. To help, please visit our Donation page, and select Glina Shelter Support.
Dr. Aurelian needs a Tuttnaur autoclave 3850E and up to 50 spay packs of high quality so that he and his brother Dr. Pepe can continue their spay/neuter work in the caravan. They can spay/neuter up to 70 dogs per day between the two of them. We need to have the equipment so they can continue to keep their operating equipment sterile in the field. Please visit our Wishlist page to order spay/neuter supplies for Drs. Aurelian and Pepe.
We are still searching for a mobile clinic for use by our vets in Romania. Then we can hire more vets to do spay/neuter work for us in villages and towns throughout the country. The need is immense, and we only have our caravan at this point.
Thank you everyone! Love, Nancy Janes, President, CEO and Founder Romania Animal Rescue, Inc.
