Jake and Leo need a Loving Home Together
Leo and Jake are a pair of delightfully sweet Border Collie-mixes looking for a loving guardian – preferably together. Leo looks like he’s mixed with Sheltie, and Jake is mixed with Aussie. These boys were dropped off at Chicago Animal Care and Control when their human mom could no longer care for them. She was seen sobbing hysterically as she gave them up. Sadly when they were brought to the shelter, Leo, who is about five years old and 31 pounds, was sent to the adoption floor and his best friend Jake, who is about ten years old and 74 pounds, was put on the euthanasia list due to his age. Luckily a caring volunteer saw the scene and took them both home!Their foster mom reports that these boys are absolute gems with wonderful dispositions. They are bonded to each other, but also full of kisses and tail wags for people of all ages and other dogs. They have proven perfectly housebroken, great on stairs, walks on leash, great in the yard and in the car. They sleep on the floor in their foster mom’s bedroom
If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Leo and Jake, please fill in an on-line adoption application at http://fortunatelabrescue.org/adoptionapplication.htmland follow up by contacting the rescue at info@fortunatelabrescue.orgor 773-318-2239 or you can also contact their foster mom Amy directly for more information at amysusanbrennan@aol.comor 773-727-9340. Their adoption fee as a pair of $325 benefits Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue. Leo and Jake are healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-tested, and micro-chipped.Our boys up for adoption!
Jack - 6 month old lab mix boy that needs foster or adopter ASAP! Crate trained and very sweet with everyone!
Galleta/Cookie is a beautiful possible Plott Hound/Hound mix and is around 6 yrs old. She gets along with everyone and is pretty laid back. She was a superstar at our Event May 31st and helped herself to any open chair she could find to keep an eye on the activity.
Hopefull crew male 2 - 8-10 lbs, 8 weeks old, has been dewormed and has his puppy shots! FPALR covers the deworming, microchip for their safety, and spays/neuters. This litle boy is great with everyone and has excellent temperament!
Renee is 3 years old girl, potty trained and easy to care for. She loves everyone! Another CACC in danger female that ended up in a bad place! We love her!
Eski is a very sweet and affectionate 5 yr old English Lab. He weighs in at just over 120 lbs of love. He loves all other dogs and cats and kids too!He does need room to run as he has lived on a farm his whole life, but is currently in a foster home where he is learning very quickly how to behave in a home. He loves to ride in the car and feel the wind in his face, smiles the whole time! Due to his size, very small children probably wouldn't be a good fit.He would love them too much and possibly knock them over.
Millie is a possible Lab/Collie mix from CACC Chicago Dog Pound and is looking for her forever home. She is in a foster home with another friend, is potty trained, is calm and excellent with everyone, and just a good girl. She is around 18 months old.
Mandy is about 9 months old. She came to FPALR with a severly broken rear leg after being dumped at a VERY high kill shelter in Chicago. She did have surgery and a pin put in her leg but her cast is now off, she does still have the pin in her leg which will be coming out soon. Her foster family has been doing physical therapy with her and she is doing just perfect. She is housebroken, crate trained, loves to just snuggle and be near someone. Her foster family just loves her to pieces and would keep her themselves except they wouldn't be able to help other dogs if they did. She is great with her foster dog brother, the foster cats and kids.
Dollyis an approximately 2-year old female Pittie mix. She is house-trained and has an excellent temperament. She loves all people and is always happily wiggling from wagging her tail! She is selective about certain dogs, so would be best as the only dog in the family.
Poor Princess was abandoned by her owners at a high kill shelter... and is diabetic. She came to us and got very sick due to all of the stress and abnormal schedule of transport. She spent several precarious days at the emergency vet and thankfully pulled through.
Seth is a pure Brittany Spaniel, about the age of 3-4. He loves everyone is well behaved and loves to go for walks. He is waiting for his devoted family to scoop him up! What a handsome boy! He is fostered with dogs and a cat.
Dora needs a foster home this week! We just saved her life, she is only 3-4 years old. Dora just made it out of CACC. She is a beautiful black lab girl with so much love 2 give. Available now.
Ben (former Hazel) is a real sweetheart. He is a male Husky-Mix and was surrendered by his owners at CACCin March 2014. He needed a life saving surgery asap to remove a large mass on his spleen. Once he is recovered, he will be available for adoption and make a wonderful member of someone's family. Update: Ben is about 4 years old and just had a the above mentioned complicated surgery. He is ready to have his own home
We are in need of a foster home for Jada...or better yet, a forever home! Jada is still a very active 9/10 year old girl. She is a small possible Shepherd mix of around 40 lbs. She is an owner surrender due to the owner's health issues. Owner states it would be best for her to be the only pet because Jada doesn't want to share her lovin' and toys and has started to chase the cats. She might just need some extra attention and exercise. Jada loves to be with people and get belly rubs, take long walks, and would adore a fenced yard to run in and play! Being fostered in Janesville, Wi.
Hi, my name is Sam, though my foster family calls me Goose, as in Silly Goose….and I kinda like it. I am told I am very handsome, people seem to especially like my one blue, one brown eye. Some people say I look like an Akita, others think Husky, but if you look up a Canaan Dog, I think I look most like that, although it is a pretty rare breed. I am about 4 years old, housebroken, neutered, microchipped and on heartworm preventative. When I first came to FPALR I was really skinny, had a bad limp, and was terrified of everything and everyone I met. Thanks to FPALR, their vet, and a lot of love from my foster family, I am happy and healthy. I am still afraid of strangers, but once I meet somebody and learn I can trust them, I am extremely loving and devoted. My ideal home would be one without a lot of commotion because I am a sensitive guy and a fenced in back yard that I can run around in or just bask in the sun. I get along fine with other dogs and cats, but I’m obsessed with the resident goat….so best in a home without livestock With a little bit of patience, I’m going to make somebody a terrific dog.
My name is TJ! I am a 9 year old male Lab mix. I am looking for my FURever home so I can enjoy the life I have been given and bring joy to a special family. I was overlooked at the Chicago Dog Pound because I am showing some gray and am not bouncy like a puppy! BUT I will show you how much love I have to share and my foster mom can tell you!
