We love our Sally (Black Lab/Doberman mix) and Emma (formerly "Sweetie") both from FPALR, who we worked for several years ago, They are the best pals to each other, and they are the loves of our lives. They are on the verge of being 8 years old now, and we have had them (Sally since Feb 2003, and Emma since June 2005)
This is Tully and Paws (aka Minnie). My neighbor adopted Paws and I shortly after adopted Tully. Wed love them so much and they are doing absolutely wonderful. We tease that they are boyfriend and girlfriend
Hi Just wanted to drop you a note and let you know that Max ( formerly Caleb) adopted on June 18,2011 is doing great in his new home. And gets along great with his new big brother. Max has gained 6 pounds since I brought him home

Dear Friends,
I wanted to write in to give an update on Marley who is now called Smiley. When I saw him on the website my heart went out to the little guy who was in need of hip surgery. We are so happy and lucky to have adopted such a great dog. Thank you for all the wonderful work your organization does. These animals are all deserving of great forever homes and without Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue success stories like this would not happen.
Thanks,The Jenkins Family
Roxy aka Sophie
Hi Ileana, Just wanted to take the time to thank you and let you know how great Sophie( we named her Roxxy) is doingg. We recently came to your facility because we had lost our bet friend ( a black lab) to cancer and we were ready for another dog. It was very hard to find the fight fit for our family but I am very glad that we went through Fortunate Pooches Lab Rescue. Roxxy has fit in sooooo well. She loves everyone and is just like one of the kids. She goes everywhere with us and is just a great fir to our family. Here are some pictures.. Thanks again for helping us to pick the right one for our family. She is truly loved and doing great. I am so glad we were able to rescue her and give her a great home. I hope that others consider rescuing dogs like we did.
Thanks again Sheila Filipowicz

Abby Adopted by the Murnane Family in August 2010! Thank you ! We would not be able to save these dogs without you!
Penny now Taffy is doing excellent in her new home. She is potty trained and she does well in the house. She loves the kids! Here is the note from her new home:
Hi Ileana,
Penny is great - although we've changed her name to Taffy. She is a sweetheart - housebroken, mild-mannered, social with other dogs and friendly toward the kids. We don't even crate her any more because she behaves well at night and when we're gone. I've attached a picture of her in our kitchen
Thank you for saving my life! I now have a wonderful forever home where I am so happy and loved. I enjoy walks in the park, meeting new humans and canine friends. I have a special blue blanket and toys, too!
I went to the vet for my chip and more medicine to get rid of my cough. Everyone thinks I am such a cute lttle girl!

Dear FPALR,
I wanted to send you an update on Jerod (now known as JD). We brought him home on July 2nd. He was a scared and timid little guy. . He now has no fear of the stairs at all. He is truly become a part of the family and has traveled to Galena, Minnesota, and even to Nebraska with us!
I know that the name of your shelter is fortunate pooches and lab rescue. JD is certainly a fortunate pooch. However, we are a very fortunate family to have found such a wonderful dog! Thank you! Please see attached photos of JD.

Hi Ethan,
Just wanted to give you an update on Lenna ( aka Lilly). She is doing fantastic. She's eating really well and doing wonderful on the potty training. As you can see from the pictures she gets along great with her big brother and big sister. Sometimes she tries to get in on their big kid play and we have to side track her until she gets bigger. She loves running and romping through the snow even the parts that are much deeper than she is tall. She is such a sweetheart and so loving. Her favorite spot to sleep is on one of our laps all curled up comfy and warm. She went for her first vet check and did great and goes for her second one this week. Thank you so much for all that you do for these dogs and for what you did for Lenna. You took such great care of her when she was sick, we can't thank you enough.

Merry Xmas all!
Just wanted to share some recent pictures of Augie, who we adopted in September (one of Lady's litter of 5). She's adjusted pretty well to city life, with plenty of doggy friends (including Ella, the Chocolate Lab downstairs), and getting plenty of doggy advice from her "Aunt" Allie (our parents' dog). She's taking a winter break after finishing Puppy Training, and is considering agility training for the spring. She loves playing fetch, and will even bring her ball without stopping for a treat some times. We broke down when curiosity got the best of us, and had her gene-tested, finding she was 75% of no particular breed, 12.5% Miniature Schnauzer (which may account for her small stature), and 12.5% Border Collie (which she seems to favor in the rest of her looks and behavior); feel free to pass that info on to the families of her litter-mates, it may answer some questions they could have. We're grateful every day for the time we have with her, from the growly yawns when she first wakes up, to the persistent reminders that we need to toss a toy for her to chase, to the sad, soulful eyes presented when we refuse to share our dinner with her, to the excitement of her tossing around her ball, or cow hoof, right down to the last look over her shoulder of the night from her bed. On behalf of my wife and myself, we'd like to thank you for being there for her, and for all the work you do.
Best regards, Frank Sochacki
Molly
Hello Ethan!!!
I just wanted to say thank you so much again for everything you have done for them because they would not be so wonderful without you or your helper dogs. I wish everyone a very happy holidays. I also attached a few pictures of them from the past months (Molly is all black and Lucy is the black and tan).
Thank you again,

We currently have RoseMary. We did a trial foster week and we like her. We left our check and filled out all of her adoption forms. We all voted and it was unanimous that she permanently join our family. We are calling her Rosie and will also be happy to forward pictures for your happy endings etc. If you could ask Roshini's permission, we'd like to email her pictures too. Rosie is doing well. She's enjoying running in our yard and being spoiled by 6 people! Thanks, Kim Hoffman

FPLR:
We want to thank you for giving our family the best gift this year! Smooch is doing really well here with us and we love her so much. She wakes up with me every morning at 5 a.m. and we go straight to the dog park for some exercise. She is full of energy and of course happiness. By day 3 of her being at her new home we could already see a difference in how she acts. Oh and remember how she was terrified of cars and getting into them? Today (Day 4) she jumped into the car all by herself without us having to pick her up. All she needed was love, attention and patience. Again we want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to raise her and be part of her life as she?s part of ours forever. I have included 5 pictures of her so far with many more to come. Thanks again.
