Our online application is quick and easy to complete. Please click the link that follows and a separate browser window will open up with our online dog adoption application.
Once you have completed the application, you will receive a confirmation email. Check spam and alternate email boxes if it doesn't show up in your primary email folder or box. If you did not receive the confirmation email, you did not fully complete the online application.
We review applications for all of our adoptable animals in the order we receive them to ensure we are fair to all applicants. Our rescue team members are all unpaid volunteers who do our rescue work in addition to jobs and family responsibilities. Please be patient.
Meet and Greets
We show our animals to prospective adopters at scheduled adoption events, as well as in prearranged one-on-one meet and greets at local pet supply stores. We will not set up a meeting unless you have filled out our online application.
If you plan to attend one of our adoption events and would like to meet a particular dog that you saw online, please fill out an adoption application in advance and then email us so that we know to expect you at the event. If you have an appointment to meet a dog at an event or at a private meet and greet and you do not show up and do not inform us that you are unable to attend, we reserve the right to allow a walk-in client or the next qualified online applicant to adopt the dog you had applied for.
Our adult rescue dogs are:
tested for Heartworm
vaccinated for Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordetalla
microchipped
checked for fleas and treated with appropriate medication when necessary
checked for internal parasites and worms/dewormed
spayed/neutered
Our rescued puppies are:
vaccinated according to age
microchipped
checked for fleas and treated with appropriate medication when necessary (flea larvae cannot be seen, so we suggest bathing your puppy with Dawn or in a flea bath, according to age)
dewormed (several dewormings may be necessary as larvae develop in the system and exhibit signs of worms)
spayed/neutered
Uncovered Expenses
Please be aware that there are expenses not covered by FPALR. For example, we do not pay for rabies tags. Also, for rescue-approved expenses, such as vaccinations and spay/neuter, the services must be provided by one of our preapproved animal hospitals or else we will be unable to reimburse the vet costs.
Please note that FPALR covers the cost of the spay or neuter when it is done at one of our preapproved vet partners, but certain clinics require blood panels prior to surgery, and/or medications afterwards. FPALR does not cover these additional costs.
