At FPALR, we rescue dogs and cats who have been neglected, abandoned, and overlooked. Our mission is to find them homes with loving families who will commit to taking care of their dog or cat for that animal's entire lifespan.
Although we do get purebred animals in, most of the animals we take into our rescue are not pedigreed animals. But they are hearty, smart, cute and loyal pets. Rescue animals appreciate the good life when they finally land in their permanent home, and reward their rescuers with love and loyalty.
We get our animals from a variety of sources...from shelters and animal control facilities in the Chicago area and in other states, and sometimes even from out of the country when we are taking in animals who are from areas that have been stricken with hurricanes and other natural disasters.
We also take in animals that are surrendered by their owners to us. We've even gone to pick up dogs or cats who literally have been left on the street and in abandoned homes.
