We are devastated every time we get a list of dogs who are on doggie death row, knowing if we can't pull them out of the shelter quickly they will be euthanized. Imagine seeing pictures of so many deserving dogs and having to choose which ones we save.
Our biggest expenses are vet bills. The rescue pays for vaccinations, spays and neuters, and other routine medical care for all of our dogs. But our adoption fees don't cover the expensive treatments that often are required to save a dog's life.
Parvo is a pervasive and often deadly virus that affects puppies, and giving that puppy a fighting chance is very costly because it requires IV fluids and a multitude of medications, plus often hospitalization and around the clock vet care. That care can cost thousands of dollars, far exceeding the adoption fee for that puppy. Your donations are how we make up the difference.
Many of the dogs we pull from kill shelters come to us infected with heartworm. Although heartworm is treatable, it's very costly and can run anywhere from $600-$2,000, depending on the severity of the infestation. Help us bridge that funding gap.
We also take in dogs that require surgeries, physical therapy and other above and beyond medical treatment. With your help, we can bring dogs from kill shelters into our rescue that we know upfront will run up a bigger vet bill. Your donation means we can say yes!
