Urgent Notice:Volunteers and Adopters

Due to the economy and the fact that we are in a depression, humans will think of any new ways to make money or to be
distructive! A facility close by was broken into on 7/21 and 8 dogs were stollen. Animal research facilities pay between 100-200/dog and these animals are abused through research which is of no benefit to humans, and ultimately destroyed! They are called Class B dealers!
As we have had odd people coming into our shelter, please be advised of the following:

1. Watch for any people that are not serious about adopting, look at body language, ask questions in regards to their experience with animals. Limit the amount of dogs that they are requesting to see, and isolate the description of the dogs. These people may request to see dogs, in order for them to find out more information as to the quality of dogs we have in rescue.
2. Clearly state the fact that these dogs come from Animal Control Facilities only, with a paper trail! We are not a breeder and we only save dogs with paperwork in order from authorities! As a result, at our shelter there is no room for browsing as we are not a puppy store! Pictures taken inside our facility, are the property of FPALR, unless pictures are taken by FPALR management!
3. Please, DO NOT ALLOW anyone in our facility in the back. We are not a petting zoo!
4. As always, please be aware of unusual people.
5. Also, always have an eye on your dogs, and do not leave them unattended!
6. We crate our dogs! Crating is good and dogs consider crating their safety! If anyone has an issue, please refer them to Google key in to crate or not to crate! If they still have a problem, due to their lack of education, refer them to a tour at Anti Curelty Society in Chicago!
7. Noone is accepted in our facility, without signing the liability waiver, including Fox Lake Police or any other officer carrying arms. A dog can come to greet them, jump on them being friendly and there have been incidences where the dog has been shot, due to their lack of compassion, education and access to arms and power!

James Bond! Always watch for the BAD! Kids and animals are usually the target!

Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue
is dedicated to saving dogs that are abandoned in shelters and animal control facilities and providing them a second chance to be adopted into loving families. Our staff is composed entirely of volunteers, career-oriented people who extend their duties. We are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a qualified non-profit organization. Your donations in support of our work are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. We have no paid employees!!!

FPALR, Inc. is a not-for-profit, 501c3 organization
.

We help unfortunate Labradors and Lab Mixes find permanent homes through public education, responsibility, and dedication. For adoptions, please click the "How To Adopt Our Dogs" link.

None of our staff take a salary from FPALR, Inc. We are ALL volunteers. All donations go directly for the care of our rescued dogs and puppies. It is up to you whether you would like to contribute to saving a dog. We appreciate your help deeply.

Our dogs are the HEROES and our number one priority!  In addition, our adopters are special, because we understand that without you, we would not be able to rescue. We contribute to the community by placing dogs with solid temperaments in special-needs homes, nursing homes, and special families. We went to the next step of opening up an adoption center, which houses our dogs. Due to the fact that humans are unpredictable at times, and these dogs end up in cruel situations, an adoption center was necessary. This enables us, the rescuers, to be truthful, and in charge of the destiny of the dogs we save! And NO, we are not wealthy individuals. Our wealth comes from responsibility, compassion, love, ethics and education. Our fame derives from the ART of the animals we save from death! They are our Picasso's!

WE URGENTLY NEED FOSTER HOMES!

Foster homes enable us to save labs/mixes and are the backbone of the organization. Please send us an e-mail message if you would like to be a volunteer. This web site will always be under continuous improvement to keep visitors informed.

Please send us an e-mail and a home visit will be performed by one of our volunteers if you plan to adopt or become a foster residence.

Please ask us about our one-on-one dog assistance program. We are excited to offer a free dog assistance consultation with each adoption. There will be a minimum charge for any follow-up after the free consultation, which will benefit our labs.
E-mail us at info@fortunatelabrescue.org.
