Dogs usually get adopted in 2-3 weeks, and you can always rotate. The economy has left millions of animals in Animal Control Facilities due to be destroyed. The City of Chicago is striving to make our city no kill! Many big dogs such as labradors have a better chance at getting that right home in the suburbs! We help them! Payton is a young 1-2 years old collie/shepard mix possibly. I have longer silky hair, and I am so happy to have been saved by Illinois Animal Rescue and FPALR. I came in this van, with other dogs that were saved just in time and we were sooooooo happy. It was a long ride, however this really nice man Dane drive us to safety! It was a hot summer day, but we made it! When the door to the van opened up we saw the sunshine and this really nice blond lady Chris. I am waiting for a home that can give me love and proper care! I met Meredith and Char and Claire at the temporary facility where we are all staying! and we celebrated this humans birthday with party hats and cake...hmmm what nice people! Well Happy Birthday Char!
Suzieis about 5 years old and very sweet. She loves everyone, cats, dogs and kids. Unfortunately many good dogs end up in very bad situations due to the economy!
Lilly is about 4 years old, fully potty trained and good with other dogs, and kids. She loves to go for walks and most of all she loves to eat.
Wafer is a young yellow lab mix between 8 months - 2 years. FPALR rescued her just in time before the long weekend. Please look at me, I am an energetic playful happy girl, who is waiting for a family with kids and other dogs. I can go to your soccer games, and I can play ball with you. At the same time I am eager to learn my good manners.
Stevie is such a sweetheart once you get to know her.If you are looking for a smart, quiet friendly gal she is the one for you. Already knows how to sit, down, come, up and off in only a few short days at her foster home. Now she just needs that family of her own to continue to teach her to lay down and heel and she will be perfect. New arrival Nana was saved by FPALR the day before she was scheduled to be euthanized. If you want someone who will love you unconditionally this is the gal for you. As you can see from her pictures she recently had a litter and apparently the owners no longer wanted her as they had new ones to take her place. She was the sweetheart of he HIGH KILL SHELTER that she was rescued from and we can see why, just a great temperment and personality, She appears to be Hound Mix

Venus is one of the staff's favorite dogs and we can't wait to see her go into a great home. She's the total package... stunning, sleek, strong and smart. And she's very playful too, chasing tennis balls or running around with her poochie pals. A yard and a male canine companion would be the perfect match for her, along with someone ready to shower her with love when she's done playing
Abby is really a character. She looks tough but is really just a pile of mush. She does need to be an only dog as she wants all the attention for herself. About 2 years old and very pretty
Roxy is completely housebroken, loves kids and cuddles.Lab mix who has the best of what the world has to offer her with the right family. Has been thru two levels of Obedience classes and loves learning new tricks
Beachi's days of being Mom to her 5 babies are over with and she is now ready to find her forever home. On the medium size, beagle mix who has an awesome personality and temperment, gets along with her way bigger foster brothers with no problems.
Gypsy is about 10 months old and sweet as can be. She rides well in the car, gives kisses, loves kids and is very well behaved and potty trained. She knows her basic obedience commands and she is only about 45 lbs. She would be a great family dog.

Hi my name is Mollie, and here is my story. I was a front page story last month here as the dog that was spared euthanization at the Waukegan Animal Control facility by a great team up there who saw something within in that caused them to say SAVE HER. They were able to keep me til FPALR could find me a foster home. I was what you would say beyond skinny, my fur was half gone yet I loved everyone. Little did they know I was also with pups. I found a great foster Mom with Chris, who took me and my babies in. I know how to sit, down and love attention. My only bad habit is I love to chase FROGS, hey I don't think that's a bad thing. Starry poor Starri ended up in a kill shelter, and being black she had no chances at life. She is 1-2 years old and spayed, also potty trained. We rescued her just in time and now she needs a home. She is sweet with everyone, cats,dogs people and kids.
Gracie poor dog has been in the same family since a puppy. They brought her in saying that she was their daughter's dog and she married and moved away. They also have not had her to a vet for 3 years. Such love for their faithful companion of 9-10 years! They did say she was good with their grandchildren. She seems very sweet.
